Grid Alternatives for the Farm

Farming gets very expensive when the price
of diesel and electricity start climbing. This cuts
deep into the profits of the farm as we all can figure, because
farmers can not raise the price of their products to cover the costs.

There are some ways that farmers such as myself(smallfarm)
can reduce the outgo.

My electric fence that I use to keep my cows in
is powered by Solar Power.

Bio Diesel to the run the tractor is easy to
make, and the cost is low. ( A little time consuming.)

It is hard to build something that would really
do some good in cutting costs because of the expense
to build a unit big enough to do the job.

These small ways of saving money through Solar
and Bio Diesel will lead you to come up with
more on your own.

We still need to provide for ourselves
and not depend on outside sources.
